NEWTON CRADDLE

is a physical experiment with Newtons 3 law:

Building a Newton Cradle is a spectacular and playful way to learn

how forces works and interact in more dimensions!

This guide will help you make a variation of Cradles & experiments in your Qube.

Cardboard

Craft foam

Tape

Grill skewers

A. Make a simple CAM 

Cut a few CAMS plates out of foam
Start with 2 circles in different sizes.

Later you can add different shapes. 

C. Make a CAM FOLLOWER

B. Make a simple CAMSHAFT

Make a simple Camshaft on a grill skewer. 
Start with a single circle round. 

Later you can build a row of cams.

A. Make a simple cardboard beam

Cut & Fold a rectangular piece of cardboard
Width: 160mm x the length you decide. 

Fold it like this

Later you can make more beams in different length. 

B. Attach it to the Qube

Use Grill Skewers or alike. Pin them through the cardboard and the holes in the Qube

Later you can attach any length of cardboard beams to each other or to the Qube. You can build both vertical, horisontal and diagonal inside & outside the Qube.

Now youre getting started!

Find two beams and pin the camshaft horisontally.


Later you can add different positions

Then place the cam follower vertically

Turn the camshaft to see if the cam-follower spins.
